The challenge
When Datavant merged with Ciox Health in 2021, it faced the typical challenges that come with a merger – like consolidating and streamlining legacy systems and processes.
With two different hiring/ ATS systems and modes of hiring (both corporate and high-volume), the Talent Acquisition team found that information and workflows were getting siloed and creating confusion. Gina Nicoletti, Head of Talent Acquisition Operations at Datavant, says that “dealing with multiple platforms led to pain points for both the TA team and our hiring partners.”
Both Gina and Talitha Shiroma, Talent Operations Program Manager at Datavant, recognized the need to bring everything into a single hiring platform – Greenhouse – to eliminate redundancies and build a structured process everyone could follow.

The solution
Talitha spearheaded the migration of Datavant’s hiring process into Greenhouse, seamlessly transferring over 2 million candidate records, job requisitions and historical data.
This transition didn’t just cut costs – it also brought structure and efficiency to the hiring process. By consolidating tools and eliminating inefficiencies, Datavant significantly increased recruiter productivity and built a more scalable system. With hands-on support from the Greenhouse Customer Success team, Talitha and Gina tailored the platform to their needs, implementing features like auto-granted hiring permissions to streamline workflows and remove bottlenecks.

By collaborating with the Greenhouse Customer Success team and nearing the final stages of integrating Greenhouse with Oracle HCM, Datavant eliminated tedious manual data entry, making their recruiting process smoother than ever. Key Greenhouse features helped create consistency in their hiring:

Merging costly systems, processes and two different hiring approaches after an acquisition was no small feat for Datavant. But after switching to Greenhouse, they not only streamlined operations, they saved $350K+ in the process.
Additionally, automation and intuitive hiring tools in Greenhouse helped enhance recruiter productivity by 50%, making the hiring process more seamless and effective.
Overall, Talitha knew patchwork fixes weren’t the answer, and said, “You can only apply so many Band-Aids until you become Frankenstein.” With Greenhouse, Datavant tackled the root issues, creating a stronger foundation for hiring.
Leading change management, Talitha drove a 95% adoption rate across the TA team, making it much easier for hiring managers to see the value of using Greenhouse – ultimately building structure and lasting improvements into the process.
Talitha also noted how Greenhouse empowers her team to do their best work (and be their best selves) – creating a ripple effect that leads to better, more impactful hiring.
