Structured hiring and workplace inclusivity across the globe: Why Greenhouse is expanding in Dublin

When Greenhouse was founded in 2012, we had one goal and one mission: to make companies great at hiring. And not just US companies. Our goal was to help businesses around the world bring data, structure and fairness to their hiring process and empower them to find, attract and retain top talent. Today, at over 5,500 customers worldwide, we’re continuing to expand and bring better hiring practices to many more regions.
Greenhouse opened its EMEA headquarters in Dublin in January 2020, and has since tripled its workforce to serve over 700 customers in the EMEA region, like HubSpot, Intercom, LearnUpon, Poppulo, Webdoctor and Booking.com. Why did we decide to expand in Ireland, and why now?
A commitment to greater flexibility
We’re living in the hybrid working age, meaning that more and more companies support and encourage employees' decisions to work from their home location. And we’re happy to share that Greenhouse is 100% on board. We just announced that we’re hiring for over 100 new roles in Ireland, for a mixture of hybrid and remote roles that span across sales, marketing, customer success and support, professional services and talent acquisition.
Speaking about Greenhouse’s growth, Tánaiste (deputy prime minister) and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar said, “Remote and hybrid working offers great potential to businesses, their employees, and communities across Ireland and we want to see it become a permanent part of life after Covid. It’s fantastic to see Greenhouse Software embrace the opportunity hybrid work can provide. The 100 new jobs are a real boost and are a testament to the skills and talent to be found within Ireland’s tech ecosystem.”
Fueled by a global hiring surge, Irish and European companies are embracing distributed work because they now compete for talent on both a national and global scale. The ability to find and hire great talent remains a challenge for many companies, and can also be their biggest inhibitor to growth.
Helping global companies commit to great hiring and DE&I
Business leaders around the globe are recognizing the importance of hiring the right talent. Greenhouse CEO Daniel Chait said, “As the competition for talent increases, hiring is now a top priority for 84% of CEOs. Millions of business leaders are experiencing firsthand the positive impact a structured and inclusive hiring culture has on their company.”
Attracting a diverse range of candidates is critical to remain competitive in today’s marketplace.

Chait also explained, “As companies look to increase their commitment to diversity and fairness, we are seeing huge demand across Europe. Our Irish team has helped hundreds of European companies turn their hiring strategy into a competitive advantage through technology. We are excited to add these 100 new jobs to the team over the next two years, as we continue to expand our operations across EMEA.”
And of course, while we’re in this ever-strengthening competition for great talent, companies are looking for the right technology to get them there. That’s where Greenhouse steps in. Talent leaders, business leaders and hiring managers need our industry-leading product innovation and our commitment to DE&I that helps them reduce bias and create personalized onboarding experiences.
“Job creation is booming across Europe. Since January 2021, the Greenhouse platform has seen EMEA customers increase the average number of monthly hires they’re making by over 30%,” sharedid Colm O'Cuinneain, General Manager of EMEA at Greenhouse. “With demand for talent so high, it’s a candidate’s world. Companies must deliver a better experience for candidates by having clear hiring strategies that create a culture of purpose, so candidates feel they belong and can express their identity.”
